The boot features a Contagrip rubber sole with an aggressive lug sample that gives grip via varying surfaces and conditions and a Gore-Tex-lined synthetic upper. We selected the Vent version for our list because waterproofing in climbing boots isn’t altogether necessary. If you’re mountaineering in a scenario where your ft are going to get moist, such as a downpour or on a path with river crossings, likelihood is they’ll get wet no matter what boots you’re wearing. Additionally, waterproof linings could be excessively hot, causing your ft to sweat and get soggy anyway.
